HEALTHY EATING WRITTEN POLICY
SUCCESS STORY

Our wellness policy went into affect in July 2006. At the beginning of this school year our pop machines and all the candy sales were gone. We instead have a vending machine with healthy items. We still have a milk machine and flavored water machine also. Our lunch program tries really hard to offer healthy ala carte items and different healthy choices for lunch. We have a salad bar everyday and are always working toward new food items for the kids to try. The children were not very happy about the changes, but we think over time they will become accustomed to living with healthier choices at school.
