SUCCESS STORY

Our school administration has made the importance of being active a priority. They realize the dangers of inactivity relating to health problems. Our school system has had the strength to provide four gym classes a week for each grade level in our elementary school from first grade up to sixth grade.

As a physical education teacher I have been able to do EPEC lessons throughout the year, add Presidential Fitness, Jump Rope for Heart, and swimming curriculum with no problem. Our students are becoming very active and they love it! Behavior problems through my eyes are decreasing and their health knowledge is increasing. I am very excited about more changes to come in the students. I have more ideas formulating in my head so there is still more to come.
